Yeah vs code is really a good text editor, but it also becomes heavy and slow after few extensions, and when it comes to extensions a lot of people getting confused because of the market place, there are so many extensions available for it.
I love vs code but it will really heavy on older systems, things I love about vs code is extensions, customisation & ease of use, but have to pick a right one in that ocean
Yeah that's why I have to use sublime for other languages, but for web development & python vs code completely out rated other text editors in the market. thanks to the live server, in-buy terminal and few other extensions, if a person knows about these can go from beginner to intermediate in no time, but have to choose the proper extensions.

It can get sluggish unfortunately, the electron backend of it doesn't help that either :(
