I have been blessed to have many stories with more than 50K views. But the problem is Medium policies are against views. The views are not calculated in your earnings only reads with more than 30 seconds are equivalent to one read. The reader has to be a member of the Medium Partner Program.

The stories with any non-member views or reads will not be part of your earnings.

Expert Tips for Increasing Your Audience

I have many stories where I am able to achieve approx 50% read and 100K views which is directly proportional to higher earnings.

Tip 1: Use Google Trends to find Attractive Topic

Firstly, choose a topic which is attractive for readers, so if the story content is crisp, short and easier to understand then people will read your story and give you a clap.

Use Google Trends to check the engagement of topic keywords. It provides a graphical representation of Google search queries related to that topic throughout the world.

For example, I write primarily on .Net technologies and here is a Google trends graph on the keyword “.Net” throughout the world.

Tip 2: Share on Twitter & Linkedin

Secondly, share your content on both Twitter & Linkedin with relevant hashtags to reach a wider audience.

Tip 3: Article for your Readers Interests

Adding a screenshot or statistics will help to capture the reader's interest. For example, I have shared my highest-earning stories will definitely capture the reader's eyes, as the above tips are a testament to my earnings.
