Axiom-402: Building Smart Data Workflows with AI published: true

This is a submission for the MLH x DEV Writing Challenge

What I Built

Axiom-402 is an open-source project designed to explore structured data processing, modular task automation, and AI-assisted execution pipelines.

The goal of Axiom-402 was to create a clean, maintainable architecture for managing complex data workflows and integrating contextual AI reasoning. Building this project allowed me to dive deep into prompt engineering, context management, and efficient state handling.

Partner Technologies

During the hackathon, I redeemed and utilized Claude Pro via the Major League Hacking (MLH) partner perks.

Here is how I implemented and worked with Claude Pro throughout the development of Axiom-402:

  • System Design & Scaffolding: I used Claude Pro to map out the overall architecture of the project, breaking down complex functional requirements into modular components and clean code blocks.
  • Code Refactoring & Debugging: Leveraging Claude Pro's reasoning capabilities and extended context window allowed me to quickly analyze data pipelines, identify edge cases, and debug runtime errors.
  • Prompt & Documentation Optimization: Claude Pro assisted in refining internal prompt structures for data extraction and generating clear, maintainable technical documentation.

Having access to Claude Pro dramatically accelerated my development speed, allowing me to iterate quickly and focus on code quality.

Hackathon Experience

I attended MLH Global Hack Week: Data.

The event had an inspiring, high-energy atmosphere with developers tuning in globally to learn, build, and experiment with data-centric AI tools. Key highlights included:

  • Exploring how modern data architectures feed into practical AI applications during workshops and livestreams.
  • Unlocking partner perks like Claude Pro to supercharge my workflow.
  • Taking Axiom-402 from a blank repository to a fully structured open-source project.
