This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend
What I Built
Gift searches often return a pile of prod...
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse
🎁 Okay, gift-giving question:
You know that one person who is impossible to shop for? What’s the weirdest, most specific thing you’ve ever gifted someone that somehow turned out to be a perfect gift? 👀
I’m genuinely curious — bonus points if it was something you never would’ve thought of without knowing the person really well.
Fun fact: this is probably the first time I’ve submitted something while not adding every feature I had planned. I was also deep in building OriginTrace for the Sanity AI Challenge, so I decided to actually ship Gift Hunter instead of expanding the roadmap forever. 😄
Haha same goes for me ethem, good luck ( ⭑•̀ᴗ•́ )✧
Guys you all are burning free tier credits like crazy, for SerpApi. Atleast tell me your experience or output!😅
Guys, SerpApi credits are about to end! Just give feedback if you're using it🫠
Great guys! But it would've been nice if you shared your reviews🥲🙃🫠
"Start with the recipient, not the product" is the right order and most gift tools get it backwards, so I turned the post into a 45-second hand-drawn cartoon: the pile of products on the counter, the four inputs, the eight directions with a why and a finishing touch, the top three going to live listings with the budget and interest filters, and the Gemma-with-one-repair-attempt plumbing. No strings, yours to use or ignore, on a plain page with no sign-up:

If any detail is off, name the shot and I'll re-render it. One question: how often does the strict JSON schema need the repair attempt with Gemma, roughly one in ten briefs or more like one in a hundred?
yeah its solving some simple problem ,which is not noticed by the way great work ,nice frontend
Interesting0.
Interesting app
Bro, another project? Why are you grinding so hard?😅
We've got hacktoberfest meetup to organize.
Yeah😅, actually its my first hacktoberfest so why not do it all?😂
The verified-picks step is the part I'd trust most. Filtering ideas down to real products is where a lot of gift generators fall over. And since gift links are exactly what people paste to each other, a couple of share-preview gaps are worth closing:
openGraph: { title, description, images }block (plustwitter: { card: 'summary_large_image' }) in the root layout'smetadataexport covers every route.apple-icon.png(180×180) and afavicon.icointo the app directory fixes both.Good luck with the challenge judging.
Actually the winners are announced also, you might not know but winning or being competitive with this project wasn't the goal cause I was having exams and yesterday I hosted hacktoberfest meetup at my college.
Also, my comment on this post:

Hope that helps.
I'm new to next.js. Also, I'd love if you could critique my OriginTrace project for sanity AI challenge.
Ah, I missed that the winners were already out. Hosting a Hacktoberfest meetup in the middle of exams is a lot, so shipping a smaller version instead of chasing the whole roadmap sounds like the right call.
Since you're new to Next.js, the metadata export in the root layout is a nice place to start: one openGraph block there gives every page a proper preview card, and Next picks up favicon.ico and apple-icon.png on its own once they're in the app folder.
