Thank you for sharing your history! I wish I had someone like your mom as role model when I grew up. I actually remember very clearly to be told that women could never be astronauts, and that was already in the 80s! Such a bummer. We really underestimate the power of feeling represented. I am hopeful my daughter will have a different experience, with a more mature IT industry, if she ever wants to join the field.
