Writing code to write code

Disclaimer

Starting off, I'd like to explicitly say that this is not an article about teaching machines to write code or machines making machines.

This is not robotception, this is your only warning

anyways, just thought I'd get that out of the way

Writing code to write code

I have found a trend forming in my day to day life. I like proficiency and challenges, as should anyone who strives to be/do better. I have been writing sometimes fun, sometimes plain projects that engage me. Something like writing Krist Console in an evening, using blessed and blessed-contrib to do so. I enjoy finding cool things other people have written and making fun things with them.

KristConsole

Shameful thoughts

Before a week ago, I had zero experience with websockets. For such a (seemingly more and more integral) part of the internet, I had not so much as touched it. But then I did. For fun. Novel idea, I know. The point is, I did it just to do it, learn it, and add it to my arsenal.

Writing blogs to write blogs

Is this blog-ception? Does anyone even read these? I don't know, but frankly I don't care. Similar to my Writing code to write code, I write to enjoy the ride and the keyboard clacks, among other things.

Conclusion

Get out there, do something you've never done. Write some code, learn something new, and arm yourself with one of the most, if not the most valuable weapon - knowledge.
