What’s one lesser-known tech tool that improved your workflow?

Not talking about the usual tools like Slack, Zoom, or Notion.

I’m genuinely curious about the hidden gems — those lesser-known apps or tools that quietly helped your team stay on track, reduce stress, or just get more done.

For us, it was Krisp. It cuts out background noise during calls. We didn’t think much of it at first, but after using it, meetings got way easier to follow — especially in busy environments.

What about you? Maybe it’s a browser extension, a small automation tool, or just something clever that deserves more attention.

Drop your suggestions — I’d love to try a few!

For me it's been defpromo.com — a zero-cloud self-promotion browser extension. You supply your own API keys, and it helps automate commenting and engagement across social platforms without any data leaving your machine.

What sold me: most social automation tools route everything through their servers. This one runs entirely in the browser. No accounts on their end, no data collection, no monthly SaaS fee. Just a local extension that does the repetitive parts of staying active on social media.

I use it alongside marksyncr.com (free cross-browser bookmark sync) for keeping my research organized across Chrome and Firefox. Both are small tools that solve one problem cleanly without trying to be a platform.
