I’ve started building a mini SaaS powered entirely by local AI using Gemma 4 and Ollama.
The idea is simple:Create a financial dashboard capable of analyzing expenses, generating intelligent insights, and helping users make better financial decisions — all running locally.
Current stack
HTML / CSS / JavaScript
Node.js + Express
Ollama
Gemma 4
Local AI inference
Features planned
✅ Expense & income tracking✅ Smart financial summaries✅ AI-generated savings suggestions✅ Spending pattern analysis✅ Local-first AI architecture✅ SaaS-ready structure
One of the main goals is proving that useful SaaS products can run with local AI instead of relying entirely on cloud APIs.
This project is also my entry for the Gemma 4 Challenge.
I’ll be sharing updates, architecture decisions, UI improvements, and lessons learned during development.
Would love to hear suggestions from the community 👀

This is a really interesting direction — local-first AI for SaaS feels like the next wave, especially for privacy-sensitive domains like finance. Running Gemma 4 through Ollama instead of burning cloud API credits for every interaction is honestly a smart architectural bet 😄.
I also like that you’re focusing on practical intelligence (spending patterns, savings suggestions) instead of just adding “AI” as decoration. The biggest challenge will probably be balancing inference speed, memory usage, and UX responsiveness as the dashboard grows.
Definitely curious to see how you structure the local inference pipeline and persistence layer. Feel free to check my profile and connect — always happy to discuss local AI architecture and SaaS engineering ideas.
