This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine
What I Built
I built Echoes in the Code, an AI assistant that analyzes legacy source code repositories and surfaces hidden architectural patterns, dead code paths, and unexplained anomalies.
The theme Ghost in the Machine inspired me to think about how massive, multi-decade codebases often feel like they have a mind of their own. Developers frequently talk about haunted files or bugs that appear without logical explanation. Echoes in the Code visualizes these complex code patterns as a living network graph. It uses a fine-tuned local LLM to explain the history and evolution of the repository, acting as a medium that talks to the ghosts hidden inside the machine.
