OpenAI and Microsoft are continuing close research, engineering, and product ties. Read: https://openai.com/index/continuing-microsoft-partnership. Take: this is an Azure-first operational bet — expect privileged integrations, not just PR.

If you sell to agencies, legal, or finance: prioritize Azure compatibility. Practical steps: add a provider-adapter layer, feature-flagged model routing, and an Azure OpenAI test suite. Keep BYOK wiring so customers control keys and costs.

Trade-off is reach vs lock-in. Instrument three things: p95 latency, end-to-end token cost per pipeline run, and answer-drift vs baseline. Alert when drift >10% or cost per run exceeds your published SLA.

Ship the Azure path where it helps sales, not by hard-coding it into infra. Keep human approval, BYOK, and model provenance logs. What single Azure-first integration would move your close rate most?
