Hi Lauro, I am creating content in Spanish too, I don't know if I can create a presence or a brand or some kind of community. But there are two big reasons to me to write in Spanish (apart from being easier):

One is because I know that creating content in my language I can give a different point of view on the topic I am writing about. When you use your native language you also use different approaches and use different, richer, metaphors.

But over all, I write in Spanish because I know that this way I am contributing to empowering the Spanish community. As you said, there are fewer intermediate and advanced technical content in Spanish, and Spanish speakers feel the need to learn and be proficient in English if they want to be good professionals. This is an extra burden to us and I want to contribute to lessen that burden. It is the same reasoning that follows the FSF for promoting true free software: If you write in the privileged language, you are contributing to the gap and making it even harder to your Spanish peers.

I would like to see more good quality content in Spanish. I would like to see technologies emerging in Spanish instead of English, new programming languages with Spanish reserved words and std libraries (like Excel, it can be done, we just need to put some pressure), but if I want to see that change, I know have to contribute in that direction.
