Creating a Wicker Basket Using SelfCAD’s AI Assistant

Creating a Wicker Basket Using SelfCAD’s AI Assistant
In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to create a 3D wicker basket using SelfCAD’s AI modeling feature. We’ll use a simple prompt and upload a picture of the wicker basket, then see how the assistant translates that description into a 3D model.

Once you launch the editor, click on AI modeling on the Toolbar as shown below;

The highlighted box indicates where we input our prompt. We will upload the picture which we want a 3D model of.

The assistant feedback suggests the elements that will be included in the model; which in this case is the top rim, bottom base disc, bottom base rim, clockwise wicker strand, counter clockwise wicker strand.

The window shows the dimensions of the model, and since we will be including all the elements, we click on Generate Elements

Beside each element in this process, you’ll see the ‘Creating’ sign. Wait until all the elements have finished generating and the sign turns to ‘Ready’. Click ‘Assemble Model’

You can review all the individual elements. Once they’re okay, click on Preview Assembly to see how the model turned out.

This is how our wicker basket turned out;

SelfCAD’s AI Assistant offers a simple way to turn your ideas into 3D models without starting from scratch. Whether you’re designing a wicker basket or something entirely different, you can describe what you have in mind or upload a picture and let the AI generate a starting point for you. Try the AI Assistant and discover how easy it can be to bring your next 3D design idea to life.
