This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine
What I Built
👻 GhostShell AI — The Haunted Terminal
GhostShell AI is a spooky, interactive web experience inspired by Halloween and the mysterious world of forgotten machines.
It features a ghost-themed chat interface, horror story generation, and a coding-help mode, all wrapped in a dark, animated design. I wanted to make coding feel more fun and explore how a simple interface could become the home of a digital ghost.

Built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
How I Built It
I used HTML to structure the interface, CSS for the spooky design and animations, and JavaScript to implement interactive chat modes and predefined responses.
The current version is a frontend prototype. Connecting a locally running open-weight model is the next step toward making GhostShell AI a fully AI-powered experience.
Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
Open innovation gives developers the freedom to experiment, customize models, and build tools without depending entirely on proprietary AI services.
My vision for GhostShell AI is to use a local open-weight model to support private, potentially offline conversations and make AI experimentation more accessible.
The Spirit of It
What if a forgotten machine had a ghost of its own?
GhostShell AI brings that idea to life through a haunted terminal where technology meets imagination. It's a small step toward making coding more creative, playful, and mysterious.
