Devpost - Build, Ship, Shape: Amazon Developer Hackathon Build across Amazon Devices and shape what's next.

This is a submission for the MLH x DEV Writing Challenge

What I Built

An AI-enhanced living-room workout coach for Amazon Fire TV devices running Vega OS, monetized through Amazon In-App Purchasing (IAP). Workouts adapt to the time you have, your experience and your equipment, with no camera. Everything is driven by the Fire TV remote.

Demo

This is a competition so no compensation was paid out and this TV app was not deployed in production.

What I learned

I learned how to apply react native to build not only a hybrid platfomr but an app for the TV as well. I was able to use the amazon provided template and some videos on youtube to think through how to use the emulator and the knowledge of react-native and web development to build an app called FitPilot TV.

Partner Technologies

I used Amazon Vega OS extension to build the react native TV app, claude AI assistant, and Amazon vega OS template to help me with getting started and submnit my work by the given deadline.

Hackathon Experience

I attended the online Amazon Developer Hackathon event which allowed me to pick a track such as Fire TV, Alexa+, Bee, or Ring. I used the resources for building the app for the Vega OS TV, reviewed the track details and requirements, and submitted my work by the deadline.
