Very good points, I first start with Linux just because is cheaper to buy a computer with Linux than windows, and I use this awesome S.O since I'm a child.
When I turning up a developer, all of that become to account, and also, use bash helps you when you need to access a remove server, because the servers in the most cases/companies are Linux, not only because of the reboots but because is free!
And once you are involved with the Open Source community there's no coming back.
