Everything you do in the internet leaves a trace.

It's maybe obvious to stress out, but when you can actually see in practice what that means, it raises to a different level of awareness.

Everything you do stays forever.

Maybe forever does not really mean in eternum, but enough to be out there for someone's lifetime, probably much more.

Passwords leak, users leak, private information leak and remain somewhere.

The meal photo you posted on $evil-social-network has metadata in it, where it's taken, when it's taken, from which camera is taken.

A lot of things you would not expect have unique IDs in it.

The User Agent string of a small audience, combined with Operating System, browser version, build and whatnot... it all looks pretty unique to me, maybe you don't know who that is, but you can still say which ones are one and the same.
