This is awesome . I know there is a markdown way to check this lists but ... Is any recomendation out there to use this .mds with a third party tool?

A quick workaround without cloning could be to open any of those Github repos in web editor (first open the repo and then press "." key on the keyboard). Once the project is opened in web editor, go to Extensions panel and install Markdown Checkboxes (current version is v0.3.2). Now refresh the whole tab and you will be able to tick and untick the checkboxes in the Markdown preview of the Readme 😉
