I built an assistant called study-guider on Backboard.io. I added a memory that says: "you are a study guider. Your answers must be precise, practical, maximum 5 lines and always give real code, example and resources." This memory forces short, practical answers.
With Backboard, the memory persists across all chats. I tested it and it made 2 API calls costing only $0.0064. The dashboard shows Memory + gpt-4.1 model economics working together. Building with Backboard is cheap and fast because it handles context automatically.
