AI Meets Academia: Building EduSpark with Google AI Studio

This is a submission for the Google AI Studio Multimodal Challenge

What I Built

EduSpark AI is a student-centric learning assistant designed to transform traditional study materials into engaging, digestible formats. It tackles common student pain points like note overload, doubt resolution, and fatigue by:

Converting notes (image, PDF, PPT, audio) into concise summaries.
Generating analogies to simplify complex concepts.
Offering read-aloud functionality for passive learning.
Creating flashcards and quizzes for active recall.
Providing an AI-powered mentor chatbot for personalized guidance.

How I Used Google AI Studio

I used Google AI Studio to power the multimodal intelligence behind EduSpark AI:

Gemini 2.5 Pro enabled seamless processing of images, audio, and PDFs.
Implemented speech-to-text for audio notes and lectures.
Used Gemini’s reasoning to generate analogies and concept maps.
Integrated theme toggling and local storage for persistent user experience.

Multimodal Features

EduSpark AI thrives on multimodal capabilities:

Image/PDF to Notes: Students upload files, and the app extracts key points and summaries.

Audio to Notes: Record or upload lectures; AI transcribes and analyzes them.

Notes to Flashcards/Quiz: Converts summaries into interactive learning tools.

Read Aloud: Summaries are spoken aloud for auditory learners or tired minds.

AI Mentor Chatbot: Offers contextual help and concept reinforcement.

“If you’re a student or educator, I’d love your feedback—try the app and let me know what you think!"
