I Built the Product Everyone Said Was Too Small.

The idea sounded ridiculous.

The entire product solved one tiny problem.

People kept asking:

“But what else does it do?”

Nothing.

That was the point.

I built the first version in Greta around that single use case.

No giant dashboard.

No complicated settings.

No attempt to become an entire platform.

Just the one thing.

Then people started using it.

The interesting part was that nobody complained about what it didn't do.

They talked about how much easier the one thing had become.

That gave me confidence to keep the product narrow.

Later, we added features—but only when they supported the original job.

The prototype taught me something I hadn't understood when I started:

A small product isn't automatically an incomplete product.

Sometimes it's a focused product.

Greta made it easier to resist the temptation to build everything at once because I could see the core experience working without it.

And once you have something people actually use, adding the right thing becomes much easier than inventing twenty things nobody needs.
