For example, you can receive an offer with huge salary increase, but without stocks and the job is to support legacy codebase. It can be perfect for people who want lots of money and do not care about newest technology, but for people who want to be on the bleeding edge – this will be hell.
If you love your job and want a raise – just have a conversation with your employer about your achievements and ask how you can give company more value, usually this works perfectly fine. And if other company provides better benefits for you – just go there – you have one life and you should enjoy it no matter what.
