Apple has updated its enterprise release notes for macOS 27.2, confirming that system upgrades no longer trigger the removal of Rosetta. Previously, the upgrade process to macOS 27 would strip existing Rosetta installations, forcing developers and users to re-enable the translation layer for Intel-based binaries on Apple silicon.
While macOS 27 remains the final release with full Rosetta support, this change ensures that existing environments remain intact during minor version updates. Apple plans to begin phasing out general-purpose Rosetta support starting with macOS 28.
