The Future of Scrap Mechanic

Yes, you just saw it. Devblog 20 just came out. its been over a year without a devblog post, but this one is interesting.

MORE INFO ON CHAPTER 2:

Ok so we know what that tower thing leads to, a underground mine.
Some of the people might be there, and gives you quest to do. Or it might just be a place to mine random minerals for your own need. Who knows? Axolot Knows.

NEW ROBOTS AND WAREHOUSE:

Red totebot and a "Trash Bot". Red totebot is just acting like I predicted - Explosive related.
And the new trash bot: Looks Giant. But easy to kill. All you have to do is shoot it's eye or destroy it's energy resources. Appears to be living on top of the warehouse, and that makes sense because: Farmbot is at the ground level, and Trash bot is at the roof level, so the warehouse is fully guarded (and sad news you can't loot random stuff on the warehouse roof without fighting the guardians first)

Speaking of Warehouse, it will be revamped in the new chapter seen in the devblog. But when and how? We don't know.

OUTFITS AND INTERACTIVES

They announced a new powertool in the devblog: The Plasma Drill.
It works like this: Looks like a Level 5 Drill, but its top will open, and shoot out laser. Though its called laser, but imagine a green thruster light or something. Its likely used for the underground cave thing, Because regular drills can't mine the hard crystal like thing that exists underground.

Hot Pepper: Remember the 4th food in devblog 19? There's a hot pepper on it. With the new addition of hot pepper, we may craft it now. So be ready for new food additions!

Wheels Go Sticky and Stinky: Sticky Wheels are introduced: another tool for the underground mine. All it does according to the information, is allow you to drive on the wall, or on the roof at everywhere. Other than that, its kinda boring.

New outfit: The new outfit - Welder outfit, is already teased from previous devblogs. And a while ago, they said that they will add 10 new challenges and to unlock a special prize when you beat it, and that prize may be the welder suit.

THE FUTURE OF SCRAP MECHANIC:

According to twitter, the things from older devblogs that didn't made into the game are added in later versions. Such as propane station. The only difference of it is being moved underground, and scrapyard biome will sure come later.

With the new creative revamp happening in early 2021, we may gain access to water and larger terrain in creative. And that means survival devmode is potentially useless. So at some point in the future, they might remove survival commands and all sorts of things. Or remove the older creative mechanics and add a new survival environment similar to survival devmode as the new creative. But all sorts of move are Axolot's Decisions.
