Study Buddy Application

What I Built
I built StudyBuddy, a lightweight study companion designed for a friend who often struggles to organize study sessions and stay consistent.
Instead of using multiple apps for tasks, study sessions, and progress tracking, StudyBuddy brings the essentials into one simple interface.
It lets the user:

  • Create and manage study tasks
  • Track completed work
  • Use a focused study timer
  • Monitor study progress
  • Maintain a study streak
  • Get personalized study guidance from the AI Study Coach The goal was not to build a complicated productivity platform, but a simple tool that my friend could actually use every day. Demo Live Demo: YOUR_GITHUB_PAGES_URL https://suchit-2004.github.io/Study-buddy/ Code GitHub: https://github.com/Suchit-2004/Study-buddy How I Built It StudyBuddy was built with:
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Vanilla JavaScript
  • Browser LocalStorage
  • [Your actual open-source AI model/provider] The frontend is intentionally lightweight and uses vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The AI component is used for the Study Coach feature. The user provides their available study time and topics, and the model generates a personalized study plan. The application keeps the core productivity functionality simple while using the open-weight model where AI provides genuine value. Important: Replace [Your actual open-source AI model/provider] with the model you actually implement. Do not claim Gemma unless you actually use Gemma. Why Does Open Innovation Matter? For StudyBuddy, open innovation makes the AI component more flexible and transparent. Using an open-weight model gives the project the ability to work with a model that is not tied exclusively to one proprietary AI provider. It also makes the architecture more adaptable because the model/provider can potentially be changed as the project evolves. For a small personal application like StudyBuddy, this flexibility is important because the project can experiment with different open models and inference options without redesigning the entire application.
