A Smarter Way to Export Backlinks

Backlinks are still the strongest currency in SEO, but the workflow around them is usually the bottleneck. You export a CSV from one tool, clean it in Sheets, cross-reference anchors manually, and by the time you're done the data is stale.

A better pattern: bulk export, then process programmatically. SerpSpur's Bulk Backlink Exporter is built for exactly this — pull large link sets, organize by referring domain, anchor, and link type, then feed them straight into your pipeline.

python
import requests
import pandas as pd

API_KEY = "your_key"

def export_backlinks(target, limit=5000):
r = requests.get(
"https://serpspur.com/tool/bulk-backlink-exporter/api",
params={"target": target, "limit": limit},
headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {API_KEY}"}
)
return pd.DataFrame(r.json()["backlinks"])

df = export_backlinks("example.com")

Group by referring domain, count unique anchors

df.groupby("referring_domain").agg(
links=("url", "count"),
anchors=("anchor", "nunique")
).sort_values("links", ascending=False).head(20)

That last block is where the real insight lives — domains sending 50 links with one anchor are usually the ones worth a manual look. Bulk export isn't about volume for its own sake; it's about having the raw data to run your own filters instead of trusting a black-box score.

If backlink management is eating your week, try the exporter: https://serpspur.com/tool/bulk-backlink-exporter/

The groupby insight is the whole game here. We run something similar and filter for referring domains where link count is high but anchor diversity is low, since those are usually either paid placements or a templated footer link nobody noticed. Two practical additions: dedupe on normalized URL before grouping so trailing slashes and query params don't inflate counts, and flag domains whose links all point to the homepage versus deep pages. That split tells you way more about intent than raw volume. We also snapshot the dataframe weekly and diff it, which catches link removals before a competitor's disavow or a site migration quietly drops your equity.
