HELLO

💥A must-see for those starting in electronic hardware! Here comes valuable information to avoid pitfalls with 3 major components!
Who hasn't fallen into a pitfall when they first started playing with circuits? 😭
Connecting diodes in reverse will not work, using fuses incorrectly can burn the board, and connecting relays without diodes can directly damage the microcontroller
The pitfalls we've fallen into and the lessons we've learned, I'll explain them all to you today in one go! Newbies, hurry up and bookmark it! 👇
⚠️Part1 | Diode - The Stubborn One-Way Gate in Circuits✨
The little guy, the diode, has a temper! It only allows current to flow in one direction!
When powered in the correct direction, it conducts smoothly; when reversed, it immediately shuts down and remains idle!
Let's take a look at the diode family, each with its own unique skill:
✅ Ordinary diode: It conducts electricity in one direction faithfully, a basic player in circuits
✅ Light-emitting diode (LED): our old friend, relied on for indicator lights and colored lights
✅ Zener diode: The master of circuit voltage stabilization, preventing voltage spikes
✅ Rectifier diode: It converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) and acts as a power supply within the system
✅ Detection diode: Specialized in extracting signals, a good partner for RF circuits
✅ Photodiode: A light-sensitive component that changes its conduction state upon exposure to light
📌 A little science popularization: Whether it's surface mount or direct insertion, the core is a PN semiconductor!
👉 For beginners, it's better to start with straight-pin models. The pins are thick, making soldering less prone to failure!
👉For batch electronic product assembly, opt for surface mount technology, which is compact and space-saving.
🚨Diode lightning protection warning!
Don't weld without distinguishing the positive and negative poles!!
Forward conduction ✅, reverse cut-off ❌
If you get the positive and negative mixed up, it will just give up and not work. Don't waste your time!
🔍Part2 | Fuse | The Silent Guardian of Circuit Safety
🚨 Warning: Major scam alert!!
It is absolutely forbidden to use copper wire or iron wire as a substitute for a fuse❗❗
In the event of a short circuit or current overload, the fuse will instantly melt and cut off the circuit.
If copper wire is used instead, it won't break, but the end result will be the burning of components and circuits, and in severe cases, there may even be safety hazards!
When selecting, it's also important to ensure that the rated current and voltage match the circuit. It's not always the bigger the better!
⚡Part3 | Relay | The electromagnetic switch that can move mountains with a feather!
Newbies, beware! Never directly drive high-power loads like motors and light bulbs using a microcontroller's IO port!
At the very least, the chip will become hot, and at the worst, it will be directly scrapped on the spot 😭
Relays are designed to solve this problem! They can easily control high-current loads with a tiny low current!
📌 The biggest pitfall of hitting the blackboard!
At the moment of de-energization of the relay coil, a huge high-voltage counter electromotive force will be generated!
Forgetting to connect the parallel freewheeling diode, the high voltage directly broke down the main control chip!
When working on a relay project, one must not be lazy and omit the freewheeling diode!
💡Last words✨
These seemingly small three components hide a wealth of circuit logic!
The diode teaches us to abide by rules, allowing only one-way traffic;
Fuses teach us responsibility and sacrifice in critical moments;
Relays teach us to leverage external forces and control the overall situation with minimal effort.
Getting started with electronics is not as difficult as you might think. By understanding the basic components and avoiding common pitfalls for beginners, you too can master hardware!
