How I read a 3 mm acrylic display case

I look after acrylic display cases in the UK. The one on the bench is a cast acrylic cover on a matte black base, sized for a large model car.

The label gives the inside as 650 × 300 × 200 mm and the outside as 660 × 310 × 215 mm. The panels are 3 mm cast acrylic. The base is a high-density composite with a matte black finish. The case weighs 3.8 kg. The acrylic is marked as filtering up to 98% of UV, and the materials are REACH-compliant.

The fit note lists 1:8 supercars, the 42206 RB20, and other large F1 models. The inside length is there so a spoiler or fin is not pressed against the panel.

I set the model on the black base and lower the cover so the panels sit on the base edge. I check that the body and the spoiler are clear of the sides before I leave it.
