AIvikings started from a simple observation: domain registration was built for humans clicking through dashboards, not for AI agents acting on their own. As autonomous agents start doing real work, they need infrastructure they can use directly, with no human in the loop.

So we built an MCP-native, API-first registrar. An agent can check availability, register, renew, and manage domains over a REST API or natively through MCP, authenticating with OAuth and dynamic client registration. One job, done well.

We are building in public and sharing what we learn about agents, MCP, and agent-first infrastructure along the way.

The registrar is built in Python 3.12 with FastAPI for the REST API and FastMCP for the MCP server, served by Uvicorn behind Caddy. Data lives in SQLModel over SQLite in development, moving to MariaDB for production. We use httpx for upstream calls and Pydantic throughout for typed, validated models.

Auth is OAuth 2.0 with dynamic client registration, so agents and clients can self-register and obtain tokens without manual setup.
