Comparing SHA checksums of large JSON files can be a quick and efficient way to check if they are identical, but it has some limitations when it comes to identifying specific differences between the files.

If comparing JSON files, even if they are semantically same json objects, the order of the keys and their corresponding values would give different checksums using simple shasum. For comparing JSON files, Jsum could be used.
