Ordering lunch for a whole office can turn into a job of its own. Someone has to pick a place, collect everyone's choices, and keep an eye on delivery.
DoorDash is testing a way to hand those steps to workplace AI tools. Its new connector lets a company agent find food, build a cart, place an order, and track it. A team could ask a Slack bot to gather lunch requests in a chat, or have an agent restock office snacks when supplies run low.
The important detail is that this is not just a chatbot suggesting what to eat. With permission, it can take action through DoorDash. Employees still connect their own accounts, and companies decide how their internal tools should work.
The service is starting with a limited company beta. DoorDash says the connector uses MCP, a shared way for AI tools to connect to outside services. Companies can join the waitlist, while individual developers can request access to a related command-line beta.
If it works well, the lunch organizer may soon be the bot in your team chat. Just remember to check the cart before it orders enough snacks for the whole building.
