As a remote company with a diverse and global team, Appwrite has faced the unique challenge of asynchronous communication and time zone differences. However, in our two years of existence, we have mastered the art of understanding accents and facilitating effective remote collaboration. We are proud of the dedicated and hardworking team we have built, and we are committed to fostering a supportive and empathetic work environment that prevents burnout.
To further enhance team building and facilitate idea generation, we created Appwrite Camp. This is a 5-day offsite company meetup that takes place twice a year, 6 months apart. The location is carefully chosen based on team preferences and offers opportunities for team members to get to know each other, discuss company milestones, brainstorm ways to improve the product and community, and have fun with activities like movie nights, team dinners, food tours, escape rooms, and rock climbing.
The first edition of Appwrite Camp was held in Rome, and the second edition took place in Serbia. We are excited to continue this tradition and bring our team together in unique and interesting locations. The Appwrite Camp is just one way we are investing in the well-being and success of our team members.
