A Must-Have Capture Tool for Mac App Store Developers### Create upload-ready screenshots and app preview videos without rebuilding the same workflow for every release

Publishing an app on the Mac App Store involves much more than compiling the final build.

Every new app and major update also needs presentation assets. You capture the interface, remove distracting surroundings, place it on a suitable canvas, export it at the correct size, and repeat the process for every screenshot.

If you want an app preview video, the workflow becomes even longer.

After publishing many Mac apps, I wanted one focused tool that handled these recurring jobs without requiring a graphics editor and video editor for every release.

That tool became App Capture Pro.

Capture the App, Not the Desktop

A normal screenshot often contains more than you want:

  • Other open windows
  • Menu bar clutter
  • Unwanted background elements App Capture Pro lets you capture a specific Mac app window and place it on a clean, consistent canvas.

The result focuses attention on the app itself instead of everything surrounding it.

For iPhone and iPad apps, you can capture a Simulator window and prepare the image on your Mac in the same workflow.

From Capture to App Store Asset

Taking the screenshot is only the first step. It still needs to become a finished asset with appropriate dimensions and a presentable background.

App Capture Pro combines these steps:

  • Select a Mac app or Simulator window.
  • Capture its interface.
  • Place it on a clean preset canvas.
  • Adjust the presentation.
  • Export the finished screenshot. This is particularly useful when an app needs several screenshots. Instead of manually recreating the canvas and alignment for each image, you can keep the presentation consistent across the complete set.

Apple currently allows between one and ten screenshots for an App Store product page. A consistent series looks much more professional than a collection of unrelated window captures. Apple Developer documentation

App Preview Videos Without a Separate Editing Project

App previews can show interaction that a static screenshot cannot communicate.

A drag-and-drop workflow, live monitor, image editor, file converter, or animation is often much easier to understand when the user can see it in action.

App Capture Pro can record an app or Simulator window and prepare the result as an App Store preview video. You can trim the recording and export the finished clip without creating a separate project in a full video editor.

Apple supports up to three app previews per supported device size and language. For macOS apps, these preview videos must use landscape orientation. Apple Developer documentation

Built for Repeated Releases

The real benefit becomes clear when you publish more than one app.

Without a dedicated workflow, every release begins with the same questions:

  • Which screenshot size do I need?
  • How did I create the background last time?
  • Is the app window centered consistently?
  • Where is the previous graphics project?
  • How do I export the preview in the accepted format? App Capture Pro turns that repeated production work into a focused process.

Capture the app. Place it on the canvas. Export the result. Continue with the release.

More Time for the App Itself

Developers should still care about how their apps are presented. Screenshots and preview videos are often the first opportunity to explain what an app does.

But producing them should not take longer than necessary.

App Capture Pro is designed for developers who regularly publish Mac, iPhone, or iPad apps and want a faster path from the running interface to finished App Store assets.

No subscription and no unnecessarily complicated creative suite — just a native Mac utility built for a recurring part of App Store development.

App Capture Pro is available on the Mac App Store.
