Better Window Shortcuts for macOS### Arrange the active window without awkward fn-key combinations
Modern versions of macOS can move and resize windows without an additional window manager.
The active window can be placed on the left, right, top, or bottom half of the desktop. It can also be expanded to fill the available space.
The problem is not the functionality. It is the keyboard shortcuts.
Apple’s built-in commands use fixed combinations such as:
- fn + Control + Left Arrow
- fn + Control + Right Arrow
- fn + Control + Up Arrow
- fn + Control + Down Arrow
- fn + Control + F These shortcuts cannot be conveniently reassigned in the window-management settings. On many keyboards, reaching for the fn key also makes a simple window action unnecessarily uncomfortable.
A more comfortable alternative
Window Resize Pro provides easier keyboard shortcuts for arranging the active window.
The default preset uses Control + Option:
- Control + Option + Left Arrow — Left 50%
- Control + Option + Right Arrow — Right 50%
- Control + Option + Up Arrow — Top 50%
- Control + Option + Down Arrow — Bottom 50%
- Control + Option + M — Maximize Another preset can be selected if these combinations are already used by another application.
There is no large window manager, complicated layout editor, or collection of features to configure. Window Resize Pro does one job: it makes the window commands already available on macOS faster and more comfortable to use.
Small, focused, and private
It is a focused Mac utility for anyone who frequently arranges windows with the keyboard but does not want to use Apple’s fixed fn-key combinations.
Window management is already part of macOS. Window Resize Pro simply makes it more convenient.
