An image can be pasted directly into Mail, Messages, or many chat applications. But forums, support tickets, project-management systems, and web forms do not always accept images. Even when they do, large attachments can make conversations harder to follow.

Take a Screenshot on macOS
macOS already provides several useful screenshot shortcuts:
- ⇧⌘3 captures the entire screen
- ⇧⌘4 lets you select an area
- ⇧⌘4, followed by Space, captures a window
- Add Control to copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of saving it For example, press Control–Shift–Command–4 to select an area and place the resulting image directly on the clipboard.
The screenshot is now ready — but it is still an image, not a link.
