Feature Enhancement for Local Zone Subnets in AWS Global View

“ I have checked the documents of AWS for feature enhancement for local zone subnets in aws global view. AWS global view makes it easy to create a local zone subnet and resources in the subnet. In terms of cost, the solution is cheaper and secure.”

AWS Local Zones places compute, storage, database, and other select AWS resources close to large population and industry centers. You can use Local Zones to provide your users with low-latency access to your applications.

In this post, you will experience the feature enhancement for local zone subnets in aws global view. Here I have opted-in the local zone in aws global view and created a local zone subnet. Also created an ec2 instance in the local zone subnet.

Architecture Overview

The architecture diagram shows the overall deployment architecture with data flow, ec2 instance, vpc, local zone subnet, aws global view and aws local zones.

Solution Overview

The blog post consists of the following phases:

1. Opt-in of Local Zone in AWS Global View
2. Create of Local Zone Subnet in VPC for Same Region Local Zone Opt-in
3. Create of EC2 Instance in Local Zone Subnet

Phase 1: Opt-in of Local Zone in AWS Global View

1. Open the AWS Global View console, goto regions and zones tab and select the local zone which is required to be opt-in. Once the opt-in is completed, it will successfully activate in the account.

Phase 2: Create of Local Zone Subnet in VPC for Same Region Local Zone Opt-in

Phase 3: Create of EC2 Instance in Local Zone Subnet

Clean-up

Disable zone group, ec2, subnet.
