One similarly brutal issue that is tougher to solve than Mastadon vs others are emojis! My confidence that people will be seeing the emoji as I intend them to is very low. Unless I'm in iOS messenger I force myself to be very conservative with my emoji use just in case the readers are in a different context. It's a really frustrating user experience.
