Small functional prints sell and get used. Here are nine designs I modelled in code (parametric, so sizes are exact) and what makes each one print cleanly.
Print settings that work for all of them
- PLA or PETG, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15-30% infill
- No supports needed if you print flat on the large face
- Total filament for the whole set is under 250 g
The designs
- Cable clip set (4, 6, 8 mm channels): stick on a desk edge, 10 minute print.
- Under desk headphone hook: 36 mm cradle, two countersunk screw holes.
- Raspberry Pi 4/5 wall mount: 58 x 49 mm standoff pattern, keyhole slots, vent slots.
- Wall hook pair: 20 mm wide, 34 mm reach.
- Angled phone stand with cable slot: charge while it stands.
- 18650 battery holder: 10 cells, 2 x 5 grid.
- Hex bit holder: 24 standard 1/4 inch bits.
- SD and microSD holder: 4 SD + 7 microSD slots.
- Wall key rack: 5 hooks, 160 mm wide.
Tips from modelling them
- Add 0.4-0.6 mm clearance to any hole that holds a part. 18650 bores at 18.8 mm and hex pockets at 6.6 mm work on an untuned Ender-3.
- Keep countersinks shallow (2.4 mm) so they print without supports.
- Orient so layer lines run along the load, not across it. Hooks are strongest printed on their side.
