1. Start your internship as early as possible
I made the mistake of seeking internships after my graduation.
That's a slow move for your career, start it in your 2nd-3rd year to become job-ready after graduation.
2. Internship is not about teaching you, it's about guiding you
Most students expect companies will teach us programming and basics. No, they will guide you in the right direction.
So you should have the basics to catch up on things and accelerate your learning.
3. Internship doesn't mean experience
I have seen people doing internships in which they don't do much, just for the sake of an experience certificate (me too).
But experience is about knowledge and problem-solving on a production project.
Very few companies offer that.
4. How to perform in an internship
In your internship period, try to extract as much knowledge as you can from your seniors.
Have strong observation of how they approach and solve any problem, and then implement it in your own learning
