Open Source Adventures With Gitcoin 🚀

I am grateful to have found Gitcoin. Gitcoin is on a mission to grow and sustain Open Source. Its mission is its north star, leading it to deliver impact.

After a while of using Gitcoin, it became apparent to me that I was interacting with an open source platform where you can work on Web 3 and other blockchain led projects. I was excited by possibilities.

As a newbie to Web3 and Ethereum, I have been able to gain deeper understanding of areas of decentralised technology that interest me. The platform has different products which are fun to use. There is a quest section which gives you quizzes to learn about decentralised technologies.

There is also a bounty section which allows for one to contribute to awesome projects in the blockchain sector.

Among other incredible feats, Gitcoin has been able to create better social networks where more incentives are given to bring us together.

Gitcoin has been on a quest to BUIDL a better social network. It is building a place where social currency is scarce (Eth, not likes) and problems are solved not created.

It is behind a decentralised movement that is redefining what it means to work and also making it easy to find work in software.

On Gitcoin, incentives are aligned for the good of the users. It has core beliefs which shape the futures of its users:

😊 It believes ICO and tokenization is not the best business model for its decentralised application

😊 Gitcoin believes in open standards and fair protocols

😊 Blockchain is a game-changer for funding of Open-Source

Over the past week, Gitcoin has been leveraging quadratic funding to fund public goods on the Gitcoin network.

I also recently discovered the Gitcoin chat section. It is really awesome. Now, I have an additional source to learn about blockchain technology and also contribute to the progressive movement taking place on the web. My discovery took place a few days after I managed to complete my first task on the platform. It has given me more hope that some day I'll be able to contribute more to Open Source.

For a while, I have been looking for a way to learn more about blockchain and also contribute more to the space and Open Source. I am grateful to have found Gitcoin.
