Your Relationship Problems Might Be an Attachment Pattern

Your Relationship Problems Might Be an Attachment Pattern

For years, my dating life followed an eerie, algorithmic loop that I could never quite debug.

Every time I met someone incredible, things would start off electric. But the moment the relationship began demanding deeper vulnerability, emotional interdependence, or long-term commitments, an overwhelming wave of claustrophobia would hit me. I would suddenly fixate on minor flaws, convince myself that "my freedom and career goals were being compromised," and systematically orchestrate a graceful exit.

I told my friends I was just "hyper-independent" and "focused on my startup."

It wasn't until a painful breakup forced me into therapy that my counselor gently laid out attachment theory. I wasn't hyper-independent; I was exhibiting classic Dismissive-Avoidant Attachment. What felt like a rational pursuit of autonomy was actually a subconscious defense mechanism designed to prevent intimacy before it could hurt me.

To help individuals identify their unconscious relational operating systems, I built the Attachment Style Radar—a comprehensive, free psychological diagnostic measuring relational dynamics across four core dimensions: Secure Grounding, Anxious Preoccupation, Avoidant Deactivation, and Fearful-Disorganized Ambivalence.
