🍽️ MenuPage — A Digital Menu Platform for Small Restaurants
What I Built
I built MenuPage, a digital menu platform designed to help small restaurants, cafés, and food stalls establish an online presence and simplify their ordering process.
Many small food businesses still rely on printed menus and manual order management. Updating menus, sharing prices, and handling customer orders can become unnecessarily complicated.
MenuPage aims to make these tasks easier by bringing essential restaurant tools together in one place.
With MenuPage, restaurant owners can:
- 📱 Create digital menus that customers can access through QR codes.
- 🍔 Manage dishes, prices, and menu availability.
- 📲 Simplify ordering through WhatsApp.
- 🪑 Generate QR codes for individual restaurant tables.
- 📊 Manage orders through a restaurant dashboard.
- 💳 Support direct UPI payments.
Who would pay for it?
Independent restaurants, cafés, food stalls, and small restaurant chains that want a digital presence without the complexity of building their own website or depending entirely on third-party food delivery platforms.
My goal is to make digital restaurant tools more accessible and affordable for small businesses.

I'm building MenuPage as a practical product focused on real business needs, rather than just another portfolio project.
How I Built It
I built MenuPage as a web application with a customer-facing digital menu and restaurant management workflows.
The core idea is to connect menu management, QR-based access, customer ordering, and restaurant operations in one experience.
I'm exploring how open-source AI can make these workflows even more useful, particularly for:
- 🌐 Translating menus into multiple languages.
- 📸 Extracting dish names and prices from menu photos.
- 📈 Helping restaurants understand demand and plan food preparation.
These are areas where open-weight AI models could help reduce repetitive work and make useful technology more accessible to small businesses.
[Update this section with the exact AI models, frameworks, and inference provider used in the submitted version.]
Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
I believe small businesses should be able to benefit from AI without being locked into expensive proprietary services.
Open-weight models give developers the flexibility to experiment, compare approaches, customize workflows, and choose inference options that suit their budgets.
For MenuPage, open innovation creates opportunities to make multilingual menus and menu digitization more accessible to restaurants that may not have the resources to invest in custom software.
It also allows other developers to contribute, improve the implementation, and build new features on top of existing work.
The bigger idea is simple: AI should solve practical problems for everyday businesses, not just power impressive demos.
