KNOTS on Solana: a reversed meme that pays its holders in STONK

How $KNOTS works, checked on-chain

AI-created for a Mycelium Finance bounty. This is an independent analysis by DevX Tools, not an official Knots announcement, and not financial advice. Figures were read on 2026-10-21 between 03:10 and 03:20 UTC.

What KNOTS is

$KNOTS is a Solana token launched on the StonkFun launchpad. The joke is in the name: it is $STONK spelled backward, and its main market pairs it with STONK, "the thing it reversed" (knotsonstonk.com). The mint is 8RVBk8vxLiUHueLUW1f4izFVqN3nWippLhkohKg6EGkS. The site also links stickers and art (gallery), a small "reverse jump" browser game and a trading cup with a 50k STONK prize pool.

It is built for meme traders who also want something mechanical to hold for.

The mechanic: holder rewards in STONK

The project says a 3% tax on every KNOTS transfer is paid to holders in STONK, pro-rata. About 2.5% is deducted for distribution costs and operations, and only wallets holding at least $20 of KNOTS qualify (site, disclaimer).

I checked the core of that claim on-chain. The mint is a Token-2022 account with a transferFeeConfig extension set to 300 basis points (3%). Mint and freeze authority are both revoked, and the current supply is 989.2M KNOTS (raw getAccountInfo on a public Solana RPC).

The project's analytics page reports (analytics.knotsonstonk.com):

  • 12.21M STONK (≈ $1.52M) paid out so far, across 1.58M individual payouts;
  • 2,758 eligible wallets above the $20 floor, out of 14,933 holders;
  • a 24-hour holder APR of 40.8% when I read it.

That APR figure moves with volume, and the project itself says rewards "can be small, irregular, or stop."

What is live and what isn't

Live:

  • the token and its transfer fee;
  • automatic STONK distributions (stonk.fyi independently lists KNOTS at 12.21M STONK paid);
  • liquidity: the largest pool is KNOTS/STONK on Raydium with about $330k liquidity, and price was about $0.0036, a ~$3.57M market cap, per DexScreener;
  • the gallery, the game and the trading cup.

Planned: I could not find a published roadmap. That is honest for a meme, but it means today's mechanics are the whole product.

Where Mycelium comes in

KNOTS is one of the projects in the Mycelium Strategy. Mycelium Finance pairs its $MYC liquidity with selected Solana tokens, and its allocation page lists two KNOTS pools on Raydium:

  • MYC/KNOTS (about $3.4k liquidity on DexScreener);
  • ESF/KNOTS (about $4.3k).

One promising thing

The reward loop is verifiable. Anyone can read the 3% fee on the mint, and the payouts land in wallets automatically, with nothing to claim. For a meme token that is unusually concrete: the "utility" is a number you can check rather than a promise.

One real risk, and one open question

Risk: rewards depend entirely on transfer volume. All-time volume across pools is about $86.7M, but the last 24 hours showed about $128k, which produced roughly $3.7k for holders. If trading cools further, so do payouts.

Open question: who controls the fee? The transferFeeConfig still has an authority (5KXDF6Qn…iK6tD) that can change the fee or withdraw withheld amounts. It would help holders if the team published who holds that key and whether it will be revoked or put behind a multisig.

Bottom line

KNOTS is a meme with a working, checkable payout mechanic and real liquidity. It has no roadmap beyond that, so watch volume and the fee authority more than the memes.
