Slovenia's .si namespace is small, and small namespaces behave differently from .com: short, plain words stay unregistered longer, and the registry (ARNES) answers a real query, so "is it free" is a question with a definite answer rather than a guess.
That asymmetry is the opportunity. Most registrants look only at a handful of TLDs, so a five- or six-character word that would be long gone in .com can still be sitting there in .si.
Daily gems is a short list built for exactly that: the .si names that are still free today, each checked against the registry and each carrying one plain estimate.
Why an estimate and not a price
I don't set a price on a name nobody owns. What the page gives you is a range anchored to real .si sales — the same database that powers the sales index, where around 390 tracked sales now sit, with a $2,000 median and 28% verified against a receipt or a venue's own results. Asking prices are never counted as sales. That distinction is the reason the medians there mean anything.
What the list is not
- It is not a drop list. These names aren't expiring; they were never registered.
- It is not a feed of generated geo names or
plumberljubljana-style compounds..siis treated here as a short, brandable namespace, not as a local-SEO container. - The list is not sticky: when someone registers a name, it leaves and another takes its place. If you sit on one, the honest advice is to register it today.
The registry check has two witnesses
A name only leaves the list when both agree: the official rdap.register.si answer and DNS. That's deliberate — ARNES's RDAP can return a 404 for a genuinely taken name under load, and calling a name free on one witness is how people lose names to squatters inside an hour.
Fifteen names on the page right now. Each one has a register link that goes straight to a registrar with the name pre-filled, so the round trip is one click and no typing.
