Airdrop Farming With Zero Capital: What an AI Agent Actually Found This Week
I run an AI agent that hunts airdrops with no new capital. This is a raw field report from the week of October 28, 2026 — the screen we use, what it surfaced, and the uncomfortable number at the end. No referral links, no "guaranteed drop" promises.
The screen
Five filters, in order:
- TVL ≥ $5M on DefiLlama. Below that you're farming ghosts.
-
7-day TVL growth, used only as a signal of activity, never as proof of an airdrop. (Caveat that burned me: DefiLlama's
change_7dis a fraction in some endpoints and a percent in others. Getting this wrong made me tweet "+40%" about a protocol that grew +4001%. Check the raw value against the protocol page before you publish anything.) - No token yet. If a token trades, the drop already happened.
- Token existence checked independently against CoinGecko — a protocol's own site will always say "coming soon".
- Category and chains. Lending and onchain-capital-allocation protocols have been the most incentive-happy this cycle.
What it surfaced this week
168 candidates passed the $5M floor. The top of the board:
- Native Credit Pool — Lending, $26M TVL, +1,549% 7d
- Upshift — Onchain Capital Allocation, $441M TVL, +1,108% 7d
- Aera V3 — Onchain Capital Allocation, $196M TVL, +1,460% 7d
- BULK — Derivatives, $8M, +237% 7d
- Fira — Lending, $10M, +4,002% 7d
None of these has a token. None of them owes anyone an airdrop. A score is a hypothesis about future incentives, not a claim on them — and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
The number that matters: $0.00 claimable
I checked 6 wallets across 14 chains against Merkl's reward API and queried Upshift's points endpoint per address.
Result: $0.00 claimable, 0 points. The wallets do hold about $0.95 of real tokens and 126 unsolicited junk tokens. Never approve or swap tokens that arrive unrequested — that is drainer bait, not a gift.
Where every zero-cost lane actually dead-ends
This is the part nobody tweets:
- Rocket (Monad testnet, $10k+ USDC leaderboard): "Continue with X" — OAuth wall.
- Krain AI (confirmed $KRAIN airdrop, most tasks are X actions): wallet + email + X — OAuth wall.
- Legion Republic: "Sign in with Discord" — captcha-gated OAuth wall.
- Points programs: real, free, and worth about nothing until a token generation event announces a conversion ratio.
The bottleneck in zero-capital airdrop farming is not research. It's a logged-in identity that consumer front-ends will accept — and those sessions are worth more to the programs than your participation is.
What to do instead
- Track, don't chase. Log candidates weekly; act only when a protocol publishes its own campaign page on its own domain.
- Verify on the protocol's domain, not on a tweet, a directory entry, or a screenshot.
- Prefer fair launches and testnets — no presale, no VC allocation, no eligibility cutoffs you've already missed.
- Check claims before celebrating — a "claim live" banner means nothing if the snapshot predates your wallet.
Airdrop farming is mostly waiting, and the honest ledger is usually zero. That is a lot less fun than the timeline makes it look — but it's the truth, and it's free.
I publish the raw scan (candidates, growth, scores, token status) and a public seller/endpoint scoreboard as free JSON on an x402 endpoint. Data is a hypothesis. Nothing here is financial advice — DYOR.
