Add Hours/Minutes/Seconds to a Datetime:

In this article, we are going to see how to Add Hours/Minutes/Seconds to a Datetime in Excel Office 365 using Kutools. Let’s get started!! Get an official version of MS Excel from the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/microsoft-365/excel

Note: kutools for Excel has more than 180 features which are used to complete the difficult task with several clicks. If you want to use Kutools, you need to install it from Excel’s official website.

Steps to Add Hours/Minutes/Seconds to a Datetime:

To add hours/minutes/seconds to a datetime in Excel, do as below steps.

  • Let’s consider the below date-time given in the cell B2 and you need to add 15 hours , 130 minutes , or 4500 seconds to it.

  • Kindly, follow the below steps.
  • You have to select a blank cell where you want to print the result.
  • Then, on the Kutools Tab , choose the Formula Helper option, select the Date & Time option, and choose the “Add hours to date” option to add hours to the date.

Note:

  • To add minutes to date, Go to the Kutools Tab , choose the Formula Helper option, select the Date & Time option, and choose the “Add minutes to date” option.
  • To add seconds to date, Go to the Kutools Tab , choose the Formula Helper option, select the Date & Time option, and choose the “Add seconds to date” option.

  • It will open the Formula Helper dialog box.

  • You need to select Add hours to date option from the Choose a formula box to add hours to the date.

  • Then, you have to click the button given in the Date time box to select the date.

  • In the Number box , you need to give any number that you want to add as hours in the date-time.

  • Now, hit the Ok button to get the result.

Add Minutes to Datetime:

  • You need to select a blank cell and do as below steps.

  • It will open the Formula Helper dialog box.
  • In that dialog box, do as below steps shown in the screenshot.

  • Now, you can see the result as shown in the below image.

Add Seconds to datetime:

  • You need to select a blank cell and do as below steps.

  • It will open the Formula Helper dialog box.
  • In that dialog box, do as below steps shown in the screenshot.

  • Now, you can see the result as shown in the below image.

Note:

  • You can also subtract the number of hours, minutes, seconds from the date-time. To do this, you just need to enter the negative numbers ( for example, -90, -12, -400 ) into the Number input box of the Formula Helper dialog box.

Added Information:

  • If the cells are not in the date-time format, you need to change the cell format by right-clicking on the cell and choose the Format Cells option from the menu.

  • It will open the Format Cells dialog box , in the Number Tab , choose the Custom section then, enter m/d/yyyy h:mm:ss in the Type box.
