I didn't use something like that when I was learning, I did just 2 steps,
First part, you can look at the keyboard all you want, but you must place fingers correctly, for typing everything, this way you don't need separate time to practice.
Once you're fast this way, you can never see keyboard, if you make mistake, find backspace key, I typed + while finding backspace so much, try this for a week and you're good to go :)
