For years I've been a heavy user of the Windows Run dialog (Win + R).
While it still works great, I was curious to see what a modern version built with WinUI 3 would look like.
That idea became QuickRun, an open-source project built with WinUI 3 and .NET 8.
Unlike traditional launchers, the goal isn't to compete with tools like PowerToys Run. Instead, I'm trying to preserve the simplicity and speed of the classic Run dialog while giving it a more modern Windows 11 experience.
Current features include:
Built-in calculator
Command suggestions
Desktop app discovery
Microsoft Store app support
URL launching
Command-line arguments support
Examples:
steam
→ launches Steam
spotify
→ launches Spotify
2+2
→ 4
notepad test.txt
→ opens the file
The project is still in active development, and next on the roadmap are command history, smarter ranking, and global hotkey support.

I'd love to hear feedback from other Windows and .NET developers.
