The missing signal, dubbed 'Erebus' by the astronomy community, had been the subject of hushed conversations and heated debates for months. Sophia's grip on her coffee mug tightened as she pondered the implications of being the first to find it. The door to her small office burst open and her assistant, Rachel, rushed in. 'Dr. Patel, we've got a hit!' she exclaimed, out of breath. 'Where?' Sophia asked, already knowing the answer. 'The Atacama Desert, Chile. The ALMA array picked up a faint signal matching Erebus' frequency.' As Sophia's heart skipped a beat, she felt an inexplicable pang of excitement mixed with a dash of fear. She wasn't alone in this pursuit, and she knew Henry would stop at nothing to claim the discovery. With a deep breath, Sophia stood up, her eyes fixed on the starry night sky outside her window.
