I am going to be doing the same for my own site (might be a couple of weeks) but deliberately making it so you can guess the values.

So for each article it is inhu.co/a/1 in order (1-9a-z then 11, 12 to zz) and for each tag it is inhu.co/b/1 in case I want to share a whole subject!

Purely as a way to keep URLs short for Twitter so I have no need to make it unguessable and it keeps things simple as I don’t need collision checking!
