Learning debunning

Hi,

I’m currently learning programming.

I decided to focus on debugging as a core skill, especially being able to explain why code fails instead of jumping straight to fixes. My assumption is that this kind of thinking carries over into everything else.

For those a bit further along: is there one debugging habit or approach you found especially valuable early on, or something you’d recommend avoiding?
